Michael Nolan

Michael Nolan – Climate Change Risk & Resilience Lead ANZ, Aurecon Michael’s 25 years of experience helps the public and private sector assess and act on risks and opportunities presented by climate change and sustainability to create a positive transport and mobility legacy for future generations. Previously Michael was the Director of the Cities Programme for the United Nations Global Compact and has authored parts of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia’s rating scheme and also the Australian Standard AS5334 Climate Change Adaptation for Settlements and Infrastructure. Michael has led sustainability and climate change on several rail major projects and advised transport agencies in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Brazil and Hong Kong. He has developed over 50 carbon reduction strategies the Western Australia’s Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Strategy and the Auckland Carbon Futures Strategy. He is currently developing the sustainability strategy for the Suburban Rail Loop in Melbourne and leading the carbon assessment of the Let’s Get Wellington Moving (NZ) transport development programme.
