Nevena Brown

Nevena has more than 30 years’ experience as an insurance lawyer. She represents a range of health practitioners and facilities and advises MDOs and allied health bodies on a state and national level. She has extensive expertise in defending professional indemnity and product/public liability civil claims, and represents health practitioners in regulatory and disciplinary investigations by the National Boards (and their councils in NSW), the HCCC and AHPRA, has defended registrants in proceedings before the Health Practitioner Tribunals such as NCAT in NSW and SAT in WA and appears for practitioners and organisations in Coronial investigations & Inquests. She advises in relation to Medicare and private health insurer investigations. Nevena plays a strategic role in advising MDOs and peak allied health bodies on topics ranging from insurance cover, Medicare investigations and dealing with the media.
