Richard is Head of the UK Energy team, having joined AFRY (formally Pöyry) in 2008, and has over 30 years’ experience in energy markets. He has led AFRY’s energy market services expansion over the last 4 years, seeing a doubling in team size. He led the seminal 2018 study on ‘Fully Decarbonising Europe’s Energy System by 2050’ and subsequent studies for clients; plus studies on gas advocacy and security of supply and projects on gas storage, CCGT/CHP/RES valuations and energy M&A due-diligences. Previously he spent 17 years with Centrica plc in management roles covering M&A, commercial, and operations for gas, power and renewable assets. Richard has an MBA from Henley Business School and a BSc in Chemical Engineering.

Julia is responsible for developing the market for CCS solutions and building customer base for Shell CCS projects in Europe. She and her team work closely with hard-to-abate sectors to support their decarbonization ambitions, mature commercial models, and develop complex CCS value chains.

Julia holds a BA Degree in Economics, Masters in Finance and Accounting and an MBA from London Business School. She has previously worked in Business Development, Strategy, Market Analysis, Trading, and M&A.

With 20 years of experience in global energy markets, Julia brings a pragmatic approach to the energy transition and is passionate about sustainability and commercial innovation.
